This immersive experience is designed to offer a “first step” for riders interested in learning more about backcountry travel and all that goes into a successful tour.
Prerequisite: 5 days on skis or snowboard, inbounds or out-of-bounds, Intermediate downhill riding ability.
Gear Required: AT Skis or Spitboard, Boots, Skins, Poles, Beacon, Shovel, Probe, Backpack, can be personal equipment, rented, or borrowed.

This program covers a wide range of topics primarily focused on intro level backcountry craft and decision making, in addition to foundational avalanche awareness.
Whether you’ve only had a few days or no days at all in the backcountry, this program offers unparalleled opportunities for skill development and community connections in a safe and supportive environment.
